After 8 seasons with the Tigers, Carlos is headed back to where it all started for him, Seattle. On Wednesday, he signed a minor-league deal with the Mariners. Which also offers him a Spring Training invite and an opportunity to make the team.
With the Tigers Guillen hit .297 with 95 home runs and 449 RBIs. His best seasons with the Tigers was in 2004,2006 and 2007. Most of the other seasons were cut short due to injuries.
Signing with the Mariners gives Guillen the opportunity to compete for a spot in Spring Training. Either 3rd base or LF or RF.
If Carlos can stay healthy, he’d be a steal for the Mariners. He has a pretty good bat and a decent fielder to boot.
